Madisonville, LA - Col. Rob Maness (USAF, ret.), the conservative candidate running against Mary Landrieu for the United States Senate announced on Facebook that he has now raised over $1 million in his bid to unseat Landrieu in the 2014 Senate race.My fellow citizens,
Our grassroots campaign has come a long way and our momentum is undeniable! I'm thrilled to announce that you have now given over $1 million to our campaign because you believe we need fewer politicians in Washington and more of us serving in the Senate.
By the numbers, over 17,000 of you have chipped in at least a few dollars and you've done it over 22,000 times. These numbers are humbling to me, Candy, and our family. We cannot thank you enough.
The average donation we've received is just under $50 and that's the number I'm most proud of. It shows what kind of campaign we're running and what kind of voter we're appealing to; the average Louisianan. You, your friends and neighbors, and your fellow congregants at church. Your brothers in the American Legion Hall, our fellow 2nd Amendment enthusiasts, sportsmen in the north and fishermen in the south, moms and dads, workers and small business owners -- all of you... all of us.
These exciting numbers are important because they show the strength, breadth and momentum of our campaign. They show that Louisiana yearns for a senator who will represent Louisianan values... a senator we can count on... and a senator who will stand with solid conservatives like Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and Rand Paul.
Louisiana deserves that kind of leader and I pledge to work every day to be that kind of senator for you. In the coming days, we'll be announcing a new effort to take our message and our commitment to the voters in a unique way that fosters the momentum we've already created.
